Loca Niru is bringing lunch back to its weekly schedule.

Starting Friday, 24 July, this new Japanese restaurant within the House of Tan Yeok Nee will welcome guests for lunch, running every Friday and Saturday alongside its usual dinner service.

A New Way to Dine at Loca Niru

The lunch launch follows closely behind Loca Niru’s Summer Menu, which debuts on 16 July. It gives guests a different introduction to the kitchen’s philosophy, which pairs Japanese seasonality with Southeast Asian ingredients and French technique, now available in a shorter midday format.

The new sitting is suited to a wider range of occasions, from a weekend lunch to business dining in the city, without having guests to commit an entire evening to the table. It also opens the restaurant up to diners who have been curious about Loca Niru but have not yet made a reservation, offering a lighter first introduction to the kitchen before a full evening visit.

A Closer Look at What’s on the Menu

The Summer Lunch Menu opens with a Canapé カナッペ, setting the tone before Maguro マグロ, featuring tuna paired with yuzu cream, green mango pickles, and a crisp monaka pastry shell.

It continues with Tebasaki 手羽先, featuring GG Poulet chicken wing finished with black truffle, sansho leaves, and green chili padi, followed by Awabi, abalone served with egg custard, rock seaweed, and winter melon.

The Suzuki スズキ course, pairs seabass with a scallop cake, a Nyonya-style beurre blanc, and puff pastry. The main course, Kamo 鴨, features Challans duck breast with Palermo pepper, a lavender-infused duck jus, and pineapple chutney, served alongside an iron pot rice of Koshihikari rice, fiddlehead fern, sweet corn, and sansho pepper.

The meal closes with a rotating seasonal dessert, followed by Ochagashi, a small Japanese sweet traditionally served to round off the meal.

Reserve Your Table

With lunch limited to two sittings a week, tables are expected to move quickly once the service opens on 24 July. Reservations can be made directly through Loca Niru, and booking ahead is the most reliable way to secure a spot on the new Summer Menu at lunch.
